She did remake Crimson and Clover didn't she. Maybe that's the movie soundtrack song I'm thinking of. The Runaways, that just might be the first all-girl hard rock group.
If they were going on songwriting ability, which I'm assuming they did, (otherwise Kurt Cobain doesn't make the list) what happened to Chrissie Hynde? The Pretenders had quite a few good hit tunes. I'd take her over JJ any day.
But I think I may be giving Rolling Stone too much credit. I'm actually suprised they didn't have Edgar Winter on the list. He played one of those synthesizer keyboards that was strapped on like a guitar. With Rolling Stone's loose qualifications of "great guitar player" I would have thought that qualified him.
